TRIBUTE TO BEETHOVEN - Drum In The Symphony no. 9
The work that most charachterizes Massimo Aiello, though, is own original solo performance "TRIBUTE TO BEETHOVEN" in which he drums on a recording of the 9th Symphony.
The performance lasts about 80 minutes and has encountered a great success since 1987 in theathers, squares, churches, educational institutes, theather festivals.
It is a different way of playing classical music:
"my target is the intention of playing “inside” the Symphony with the right notes, melodies and groove/interpretation and not to dominate, overhang the music as normally done".

In 2001, I recorded my solo project, the album "Tribute to Beethoven - Drum in the Symphony No. 9" with Azzurra Music label (www.azzurramusic.it), deriving from his as a soloist performance live presented since 1987; a original project that has been appreciated all around the world with the support of many international TVs, Radios and music magazines, such as the number one drum magazine "Modern Drummer", and world-renowned educational institutions, such as PAS-Percussive Arts Society.
